services DSA / OSHPD
MLA is very familiar with the requirements and procedures of both The Division of the State Architect (DSA) and Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). In addition to being familiar with current Title 24 codes and regulations, an Architect must also be familiar with the enforcing agencies having jurisdiction over the project type. For educational projects, the enforcing agency is DSA and the local fire department. For medical projects the enforcing agency is OSHPD and the State Fire Marshal. MLA is familiar with both of these agencies and our successful working relationship with these agencies is the utmost importance in navigating the approval process in a seamless and efficient manner. Regulations are constantly changing and it is our close relationships with these agencies that helps us to keep close tabs on bulletins or updates to regulations that will affect your construction project.
We take great pride in being able to navigate as quickly as possible through the intricacies of the approval process. We will also work with the local agencies to secure planning, off-site improvement, and local fire authority approvals as required for the scope of work. In partnering with State and local agencies we can achieve a faster process and a better product.
We also understand how difficult and laborious it is to close out projects with these agencies. Working very closely with the Alhambra Unified School District and DSA - Los Angeles, we were able to close out over 40 archived projects, that previously held un-certified status.
