Monterey Highlands
Elementary School

The program consists of a 2-story building housing 6 classrooms plus a computer lab, music room and restroom facilities to replace aging portable classrooms. Located prominently at the front of the campus, the new building is sited to define a new landscaped courtyard gathering space that will be shared with an existing two-story classroom building.

A pedestrian trussed bridge connects the new classrooms to an existing elevator and walkway system to satisfy ADA requirements. The diagonal bracing of the bridge structure is echoed in the exposed diagonal braced frames at the covered walkways of the building.

Total square footage is approximately 14,500 and the estimated construction cost $4,900,000
